Q. Does Beagle shape or actively de-prioritise P2P traffic?
A. No, Beagle does not shape or actively de-prioritise P2P traffic. Beagle does however implement a quality of service
prioritisation system on our network to ensure customers have the best possible experience. Our system prioritise traffic into
the following classes (in order of priority):
- Voice (e.g VoIP, Skype, etc)
- Web browsing
- Online gaming
- Everything else
Traffic are given priority on our network in the above order. P2P falls into the 'everything else' class. We think (and so do our customers) that the performance of their VoIP calls and web browsing is more important than P2P so we essentially ensure the performance of these services while not actually shaping P2P.
