Our 3G wireless plans provide a generous monthly data transfer cap with no bill shock.

You are charged a fixed monthly fee for any data uploaded or downloaded within your monthly transfer cap.

No Bill Shock Once you reach your monthly transfer cap, your service will be suspended until the first day of the next month. If you want to keep using your service you can buy additional data blocks at $39.95 per gigabyte. You can also buy blocks in advance to ensure your service is not interrupted.

The Optus 3G mobile network supports speeds up to 7.2Mbit/s in certain areas with HSDPA enabled modems. The Huawei E160e supplied by Beagle has a maximum theoretical throughput speed of 3.6 Mbit/s downstream and 348 kbit/s upstream.

Line speeds listed above are the theoretical maximums and customers are likely to receive speeds of around 2Mbit/s in ideal conditions. Most customers will experience speeds in the range of 512kbit/s to 1.5Mbit/s. Speeds will vary significantly based upon your location and the surrounding terrain just as they do when you make mobile phone voice telephone calls. Different speeds will be achieved at different times, depending on congestion, location, local conditions, hardware, software, and general internet traffic.

In a set of standardised tests conducted over October 2009 in the Sydney CBD, Average speeds of ~1.5Mbit/s were achieved with peak speeds in excess of 3Mbit/s for sustained periods in excess of several hours. Speeds will vary based upon location, local conditions and other factors.

Your 3G wireless modem comes free of charge on a 24-month contract. The modem is owned outright once purchased. On a plan without contract, you may purchase the modem for $99.95. If you have your own Huawei E160e or E169 modem from another provider, you may bring it with you on one of our 0-month contract plans.

The E160e modem is supported by Microsoft Windows XP and Vista and Mac OS X. The Billion 6200NXL can be used in conjunction with the E160e modem to share your 3G wireless Internet with multiple customers.
